Good read Got this for a gift for a family member and he loved it. Took it on vacation to read on the beach!
The Greenhouse Gardener’s Bible What Does “Hydroponics” Mean?Talking of the origins of this technique, where does the term “hydroponics” come from? The word was first used in 1937 by a gentleman called William Frederick Gericke, a researcher at Berkeley, in the University of California, and a pioneer in the field. He used Greek words to form a new English word: he joined “hydro” which means “water,” as you may know, with “ponos” which means “work labor” to give us our word.
Good Good stuff
A complete and motivating guide to growing your own food This book gave me the confidence to finally start growing my own produce, even with limited space and experience. The step-by-step system is clear, practical, and covers everything from hydroponics to raised beds and companion planting. It feels like having multiple guides in one. The full-color visuals make setups and plant choices much easier to understand. Highly useful and inspiring.
A refreshing and empowering approach to home food production This guide really shifts your mindset from “gardening as a hobby” to “growing your own food system.” It explains everything in a very direct, no-nonsense way, making it easy to take action quickly. I especially appreciated how it focuses on efficiency and real results. The layout is clean and easy to follow, making the whole process feel much more achievable than expected, and the full-color pages make the concepts easier to grasp and add a nice visual clarity throughout.
Helpful resource Great book but a little too expensive although the color pictures and compact version of many important gardening essential knowledge compensate for it
A Must Have! This is truly the gardeners bible! I started my first greenhouse this year and it’s only the 2nd year I’ve been gardening. I’m learning so much thanks to this book. I really appreciate the photos as well. I’m a visual learner and it’s my favorite book so far.
Love this treasure trove of information! What a fabulous book my husband and I bought for our 20th wedding anniversary! We live in the mountains of North Carolina and look forward to learning from scratch how to grow organic herbs, veggies and flowers! This looks like an amazing, in-depth resource for beginners.
